This year, the project has focused on three main objectives: talent cultivation, corporate consulting, and international and industry exchanges. Additionally, the team has continued to maintain the Agricultural Residual Resource Information Platform. By enhancing the understanding of agricultural professionals, industry practitioners, and other entities interested in circular agriculture, the project aims to guide technical experts and industry players toward connecting with domestic and international sustainable product markets. A summary of the key achievements is as follows:
1. Talent Cultivation in Circular Agriculture: A total of 54 courses were cataloged, including 38 domestic courses and 16 international courses. Furthermore, 19 interviews with experts from industry, government, academia, and research institutions were conducted. Four expert seminars focusing on fertilizers, feed, materials, and energy were held on June 19, June 21, November 8, and November 15, respectively. These efforts resulted in the development of a knowledge framework encompassing foundational circular principles, four major application domains, and aspects of business management. Discussions also covered talent cultivation strategies and critical industrial development topics. Two training workshops were organized: "Enhancing Agricultural By-Product Circular Applications in the , held in two sessions from September livestock industry" 5-6 and September 12-13, each lasting 1.5 days, with a total of 49 participants. "Circular Resource and Sustainable Design for Leisure Agriculture", designed for leisure farms and small organic farming associations, held on September 10 and September 20, with a total of 50 participants.
2. Corporate Transformation and Consultancy: The project provided consultation for 32 cases, with 20 advancing to more in-depth processing stages, and 10 entering on-site consultancy phases. By addressing diverse case types, the team compiled challenges and suitable solutions for implementing circular agriculture across various contexts. Additionally, experts facilitated field consultations to address current industrial issues and consolidated regulatory pathways for reusing agricultural residual resources.
3. International and Industry Exchanges in Circular Agriculture: On November 18, the 2024 Circular Agriculture Trends Forum: "Agricultural Fashion Revolution and the Sustainable Transformation of Plant Fibers" was held at the GIS MOTC International Conference Center. The event featured two international and six domestic speakers, attracting 114 attendees from sectors such as the textile industry, agricultural associations, biotechnology, academia, non-profit organizations, local governments, and the general public. Overall satisfaction with the event reached 97.9%. As part of the industry exchange activities, on November 25, the forum participants were taken on a field trip focused on the reuse of pineapple residual resources. A group of 18 attendees, including six representatives from farmers' associations or cooperatives, one agricultural association, two biotechnology practitioners, four textile industry representatives, and five agricultural machinery operators, visited the Kaohsiung Agricultural Research and Extension Station and Jiuru Farmers’ Association to discuss industrial issues.
3. Maintenance and Updates of the Agricultural Residual Resource Information Platform: This year, 94 news updates, six activity announcements, two platform notifications, six material product entries, two circular technologies, and four circular certifications were added to the platform. Additionally, 64 resource map entries were updated. Total platform views reached 58,973, with 11,802 unique users. The team issued eight newsletters, reaching a total of 2,332 recipients.
